Delete your Intostory account
You can delete your account and everything you made with it at any time, from the app or by asking us.
Cancel your subscription in the store first. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, and deleting your account does not stop them. Cancel in your App Store subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. The app shows the right link after you delete if a subscription is still renewing.
Delete in the app (fastest)
- Open Intostory and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. You are signed out and the account is gone straight away.
If you haven’t signed in recently, the app asks you to sign in again first, with a new code sent to your email. This makes sure it is really you. Then delete as above.
Ask us to delete it
No longer have the app, or can’t sign in? Email support@intostory.app with the subject “Delete my Intostory account” from the email address you sign in with. We confirm the request with that address and delete the account within 30 days, usually much sooner, then email you when it is done.
What is deleted
Straight away, when the deletion runs:
- Your account, sign-in details and profile.
- Your stories: prompts, scripts, narration, illustrations and music choices, and their shared pages.
- Your saved characters (including reference pictures) and series with their schedules.
- Your story-minute balance and history, plan status, and the push notification tokens of your devices.
Files in storage are removed at the same time. Anything a removal misses is no longer linked to anyone and is cleared by our automatic storage clean-up. Backups roll over and are gone within 30 days.
What is kept, and why
- A one-way code for your device (not your identity), so the free story can’t be claimed again on the same phone.
- Purchase records we received from Apple or Google, for 7 years after the purchase, as tax and accounting law requires. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases.
- Support emails and reports you sent, no longer linked to an account, so we can finish handling them and keep a record of safety decisions. Ask us and we delete these too, unless the law requires us to keep them.
- Anonymous usage and cost figures that can’t be tied back to you.
Stories you downloaded stay on your phone until you delete the app or remove the downloads. Anyone who saved a copy of a shared story before deletion keeps that copy.
