Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Intostory (“we”, “us”) for the Intostory app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Intostory. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
1. Who can use Intostory
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Intostory is not intended for children. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for your account and for keeping that email account secure; tell us at once if you think someone else is using it. One person, one account.
2. What Intostory does
You write a prompt and choose a length, narration language, voice, art style and music; we generate a narrated story with illustrations that move with the narration. You can also redraw pictures, change the narrator, rewrite a story, save characters, create series (including scheduled episodes on Plus), download stories to your device on paid plans, and share stories as public web pages. Features and limits depend on your plan and may change over time.
3. AI-generated content
Stories, narration and illustrations are generated automatically by artificial intelligence, using third-party AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy. This means:
- Output can be unexpected, inaccurate or imperfect, and may not match what you asked for.
- Output is fiction. Don’t rely on it as advice or fact.
- Other people may get similar output from similar prompts; output is not guaranteed to be unique.
- Depending on the law where you live, AI-generated output may not be protected by copyright.
When you share a story, the share page says that it was generated with AI. Don’t remove or hide that disclosure when you publish a story elsewhere.
4. Your content and your stories
You keep whatever rights you have in your prompts and other input (“Input”). As between you and us, and to the extent we have any rights in it, we assign to you our rights in the stories generated from your Input (“Output”), subject to these terms and to the usage rights of your plan (section 7).
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display and play your Input and Output, and to send them to our service providers, as needed to run, secure and improve the Service, to enforce these terms and to comply with the law. For stories you share, the licence also covers showing them publicly on their share page until you stop sharing or delete them. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep as described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your Input and for how you use Output. You confirm that you have the rights to what you put into Intostory, and that your use of it follows these terms and the law.
5. Content rules
Don’t use Intostory to create, request or share content that:
- sexualises minors in any way, or involves anyone who appears to be under 18 in sexual or romantic situations;
- is sexually explicit or pornographic, or is written as sexual or romantic role-play directed at the listener;
- sexualises, harasses, threatens, defames or impersonates a real person;
- promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide or eating disorders;
- depicts extreme or gratuitous violence (horror is welcome; torture porn and real-world atrocities are not);
- promotes hatred or violence against people based on who they are;
- helps plan or carry out crimes, terrorism, or dangerous activity;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- is spam, a scam, or misleading about who made it.
Also don’t: try to get around our safety checks or limits; use bots, scrapers or multiple accounts to farm free stories or credits; reverse engineer or overload the Service; resell access; or use Output to build a competing AI model.
6. Moderation, reports, strikes and bans
- Automated checks. We check prompts before a story is made, and scripts and illustrations while it is made. A prompt that breaks these rules is refused and costs nothing. A story that turns out to break them is stopped and its story-minutes are refunded.
- Strikes. Each refused prompt counts as a strike on your account. Three strikes within 24 hours suspend the account. A story stopped because of what the AI wrote, rather than what you asked, is not a strike.
- Reports. Anyone can report a story, in the app or on its share page. We review reports and can remove content, stop sharing, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without notice. In the app you can also block another user.
- Appeals. If you think we got it wrong, email support@intostory.app and a person will look at it.
We may report content to the authorities where the law requires it, for example child sexual abuse material.
7. Plans and how you may use your stories
- Free and Starter: personal, non-commercial use. You may share your stories with friends and on social media, as long as you don’t earn money from them.
- Plus: commercial use of your stories is allowed up to 5,000 monetized views per story, with visible attribution to Intostory (for example “Made with Intostory”). Above that, ask us first.
- Share pages of Free and Starter stories show an Intostory badge; Plus share pages don’t.
8. Subscriptions, trials and payments
- Plans (Starter and Plus, monthly or yearly) and story-minute packs are bought in the app through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, and billed by them under their terms. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your plan stays active to the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
- Free trial: monthly plans may start with a 3-day free trial that includes 6 story-minutes and needs a payment method. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Refunds of payments are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We can’t issue them directly.
- We may change prices or plans. Changes to a subscription price follow the store’s notice and consent rules and apply from your next period.
9. Story-minutes
- Stories are paid for with story-minutes (the app counts them in seconds). A story costs its requested length; edits cost what the app shows before you confirm. Minutes are taken when a story or edit starts.
- Plans add an allowance each period. Unused plan minutes roll over for one period, up to one period’s allowance, and end when the subscription ends. Trial minutes carry over if the trial becomes a subscription. Pack minutes don’t expire. The free story (60 seconds) can be claimed once per person and once per device.
- If a story or edit fails, its minutes are returned automatically. We don’t refund minutes for stories that were delivered as requested but that you didn’t like.
- Story-minutes have no cash value, can’t be transferred or sold, and end when your account is deleted or closed.
- Scheduled episodes use minutes when they are made; if there aren’t enough, that episode is skipped.
10. Our rights
The Service, its software, design, voices, styles, music and the Intostory name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the store’s rules. Background music and voices are licensed for use inside Intostory and on share pages; commercial use of a story on Plus includes its narration and music as delivered.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep Intostory running but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. At busy times generation may be slower or paused for free accounts. We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering the Service, we will tell you in advance where we can.
12. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, licences for content already shared, disclaimers and limits of liability) continue after your account ends.
13. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service and all Output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by contract.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Intostory in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that can’t be limited by law.
15. Indemnity
If you use the Service in breach of these terms or the law, or publish Output in a way that infringes someone’s rights, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of claims against us that result, to the extent the law allows.
16. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and we (not they) are responsible for the app and its content. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price of the app (if any); to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and Google are not responsible for handling claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow the store’s own terms.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using Intostory after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
18. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Intostory’s operating company is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and you keep any protections of the law where you live that can’t be waived. Before starting a formal dispute, please email us so we can try to fix it.
